Two penniless families from under the overpass sipped cold tomato soup out of partially rusted cans that were discovered a day earlier by one of the shoeless children.
When the powerful food transport passed by, several ravenous kids ran after nothing more than the taunting and untouchable scent of fresh baked bread they would never taste.

Urgency ushers itself upon us when the choking embers of camplight give way to the disorienting, dilating dusk within the woodlands.
Faint echoes amidst this forested twilight imminently become the crunchy, gelid compression of nearby footsteps that taint the sterility of fresh fallen snow.

Great Gray Owl flying in snow

Alex Mody Photography

Hey everybody,

Sorry for the lack of recent updates. We’ve been really busy between the birds and driving. Amherst Island was a bit of a bust, but we’ve had great luck around Ottawa and Algonquin Provincial Park. I have tons to share over the next few days, but here’s a shot of a Great Gray Owl in the snow. I now love shooting birds in flight when it’s snowing. Also, I have an interesting story about this owl which I will share with you all in my next post.
