Is There Cricket Game In Heaven?

Madamsabi's Blog

Michael Vaughan and Andrew [Freddie] Flintoff, now elderly, 85 and 82 years old, are sitting on a park bench outside Lord’s cricket ground feeding pigeons and talking about funny cricket moments, past Ashes series, and tours like they do every day.

Michael turns to Freddie and asks, ‘Do you think there’s cricket in heaven?’

Flintoff thinks about it for a minute and replies, ‘I dunno. But let’s make an agreement: if I die first, I’ll come back and tell you if there’s cricket in heaven, and if you die first, you do the same.’ They shake hands on it. Sadly, a few months later, poor Freddie passes on.

Fun flying kittens

I was bored and wandering around my flat wondering what to do. The kittens, in single file, follow my leader, followed after, looking for fun and  hoping for adventure. We arrived together at the spare room, empty but for a double mattress on the floor.  I stopped and looked at the mattress. So the kittens did too.

Carefully I lifted the lead kitten and from about 2 feet up, threw him gently onto the middle of the mattress. He bounced, then kitten style, with dignity walked back to us. I picked up the second kitten, toss, bounce, walk. The third, the fourth, and found the first kitten at my feet, now again at the head of the queue. Threw again. Now he ran from his bounce to join the end of the queue. (Who taught kittens to queue?). Second likewise. Toss, bounce, run, queue. Kittens at a fairground living the dream that all felines have – the dream they can fly.

I tired of the game long before they did. But many a gloom is dispelled with the memory of the happy, flying, bouncing kittens.

I will add a chapter every week on Thursdays. You can read the full issue here: http://notesfromanarcissist.wordpress.com/detectives-log/

Anyway, here’s a quote…

One was an email from an outlet store.

I asked them to stop emailing me,

but as soon as I would send an email,

they would send one right back, almost instantly,

saying, ‘don’t send this address emails.’

It was like they were messing with me.

My emails got angrier and angrier

but they came back so quickly, so instantaneously,

that I began to suspect that they might be close by.

I don’t know who ‘Don Otreply’ is,

but I think I’m going to do a little background check…
